Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 Launches with Revolutionary Flex Hinge, Allowing Seamless Full Flat Folding!

Today, Samsung has finally unveiled its highly anticipated flagships for the year’s second half. Yes, it is none other than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 & the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5.

In the previous article, we learned about Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5. In this article, we will take a look at we will take a look at the Specifications of the top-of-line handset- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5.

In terms of Design, the Galaxy Z Fold5 has an identical design to that of its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Though there is a major change, the introduction of the new Flex Hinge is also present on Z Flip5.

The rest of the Flagship foldable device design remains the same as last year, like the large outer display with a punch-hole front camera & massive main display, and triple rear cameras.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Specifications

Both the cover & main display remains the same at 6.2 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate & 2316 x 904 resolution outer display and a massive 7.6 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate & 2176 x 1812 resolution. Also, the main display is now 30% more bright at 1,750 nits peak brightness.

As mentioned above, The Hinge of the Fold was overhauled, and the company is called Flex Hinge. With this redesigned Hinge, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 can now be fully closed. The Flex Hinge is a dual rail structure that minimizes external impacts such as fumbles and drops.

Also, there’s a new Flex mode via which the users will be able to set the device in just about any angle for split screen & hands-free selfies. Due to the Flex Hinge, the phone is thinner & light than its predecessor.

The foldable flagship is powered by the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Chipset, i.e., Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (Custom made), the same as the one in the Galaxy S23 series, but of course, the fold will be much better at heat dissipation due to a completely new cooling system and much more area.

The handset is coupled with 12GB RAM & 256/512GB, and 1TB storage capacity. The flagship comes in three colorways – Icy Blue, Cream, and Phantom Black. Runs on OneUi based on Android 13.

As for the cameras, there’s a triple rear camera setup at the back, and nothing has changed when it comes to cameras; it is the same as last year. A 50MP wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, a 12MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 10MP 3x zoom lens with f/2.4 aperture.

As for the front, there’s a dual front-facing camera, of which a 10MP with f/2.2 aperture is on the outer display and a 4MP under-screen camera with f/1.8 aperture on the main display.

The company has also improved the multitasking experience on the latest flagship, as the users will be able to hold up to four apps in the taskbar to switch back and forth quickly.

Users can also tap and hold an image in the Gallery app with one finger and use another finger to open the Notes app and drop the image there. A two-finger drag-and-drop feature allows the user to move content between the apps and screen easily.

Samsung unveiled Special Edition S-Pen for Fold; it is designed for Z Fold 4 and older devices in the Fold lineup and will still work with the latest Z Fold5. it is a bit bigger than the slim S-Pen & can be it at the back of the cases for Fold 5.

The South Korean giant also unveiled the Slim S-Pen Case (Sold separately just like the S-Pen). The Slim S-Pen Case is exclusive to the Z Fold5, and it has a slot for the S-Pen to ensure the Pen is safe when not using it. The S-Pen comes in three colorways to match the color of the flagship device.

The foldable flagship features the same battery capacity as its predecessor at 4,400mAh with 25W wired fast charging, of course, isn’t the best as per today’s charging standards. There’s support for 15W wireless charging, and the phone is IPX8 rated as well.
