Components for the Best Gaming PC Under $1000

Seven-hundred is still considered a “mid-range” budget, but don’t let that moniker fool you. We’re going to be packing some seriously cool new hardware into this machine, and we’re going to see some benefits from our larger budget. So keep reading to discover the best build you can get for $700.

1. Crucial BX500 480 GB

At $700, we’re finally going to be able to get some great speed in our gaming pc build. In addition, adding an SSD (Or Solid-State-Drive) will dramatically decrease our boot-up times and loading times for certain applications and games. The only drawback of SSD’s is their low capacity and high price. Don’t worry, though, and we’ve found the right balance between the two. However, we will talk about some more traditional storage first quickly.

Because of the limited size of more affordable SSD’s, we’re going to need an auxiliary hard drive. (Also known as an HDD or “Spinning Disk” Hard Drive.) These “spinning disk” drives have the advantage of being a tried-and-true technology, and their age means savings for us. Hard drive prices continue to fall, and I can’t think of a better example for this phenomenon than the Crucial BX500 480 GB.

This deal just keeps getting better and better. It’s a compact hard drive with a 2.5” form factor for a compact price.

Now onto the fun part, the SSD. Due to their high price-per-gig, high-capacity SSDs, some might believe not to be a good idea for any gaming pc built at this range. But with the current change in times and availability of more quality branded ones in the market, I will use a smaller, more affordable, 480GB SATA SSD from Crucial.

The Crucial BX500 is an affordable package at around 50 bucks, but don’t let its affordability fool you. This SSD is packing sequential read and write times of 540MB/s, which places it firmly in the competition among rival manufacturers like Corsair. In addition, the 2.5” size means we’re going to have plenty of space to share with our secondary drive.

Adding this SSD will take our OS boot times from minutes to seconds; just remember, if possible, to set up your documents, pictures, movies, and music folders, so they are routed to your secondary drive.

2. AMD Ryzen 5 2600

The AMD Ryzen CPU is an amazing 6-core processor, tailor-made for our build. It is well built and sizeable than others in the market in terms of the build’s size. However, AMD Ryzen CPU still holds up; with a boost of 3.9GHz, you will be sure to run games with a smooth performance.

Since th AMD Ryzen CPU has gone down in price, You might feel its budget price is low once you pay; you’ll explore how little it cost when you open the box and put it into your machine… but when you load up a game, you won’t find a trace of that bargain pricing anywhere. Definitely recommended, and the money we use here will benefit the machine down the line.

Games will be a breeze at 1080p, and the onboard graphics means you will be able to do some system configuration if you get stuck waiting for your graphics card to arrive. Finally, the aforementioned higher core count means multi-taskers, streamers, and content creators are going to be able to comfortably get their work done, browse the internet, game, stream, and do whatever they desire without breaking a sweat.

The final piece of the puzzle, the cherry on top of the graphics card. In a $700 budget, we’ve finally got a little bit of room to breathe when making our selection, and room to breathe is certainly something we need in this hellish market of crypto mining and inflated prices. To that end, we’re going to choose the Zotac Gaming GTX 1650 OC 4GB for our $700 PC Build.

This is arguably the best at its range when compared to the 5500XT. 4GB is going to be enough for seamless 1080p gaming performance, and you’ll even be able to push some games on 1440p. Featuring a base clock of 1620MHz, the MSI Gaming Radeon RX, for its cost, is the right reliable high-performance pick.

4.  Motherboard: GIGABYTE B450M DS3H V2

Supports AMD 3rd Gen Ryzen/ 2nd Gen Ryzen/ 1st Gen Ryzen/ 2nd Gen Ryzen with…Dual Channel Non-ECC Unbuffered DDR4, 4 DIMMsFeature Digital VRM Solution with Low RDS(on) MOSFETsHDMI, DVI-D Ports for Multiple Display

It’s hard to beat the B450M Gigabyte B40M for our purposes. It’s a great budget offering from a well-known company and allows the builder to upgrade the setup down the line. And it’s a Micro ATX board, so even if you want to get a more compact case, this motherboard will be ready.

Technically speaking, the B450M has everything we need for our price range and offers a lot of stability when involving other PC components. With enough PCI express slots and SATA support, it allows current and future upgrades and fully supports all components.

5. EVGA BQ 80+ Bronze 500W Semi-Modular PSU

Whether your build is classified as being reasonably low-power, it doesn’t give us an excuse to buy a low-voltage or cheap power supply. We’re going to want an electrical safety net to make sure our processor, graphics card, and other components can run comfortably without worrying about receiving a steady supply of power. To that end, we’re going to go with the EVGA BQ 80+ Bronze 500W Semi-Modular PSU power supply. Previously seen in my $500 and 600$ PC Build Guide, we used the Thermaltake as our option.

The EVGA BQ PSU proudly calls this product “reliable,” and I tend to agree. If you’re still not convinced, this unit features a silent running 120mm fan, as well as an 80+ Bronze certification for its high efficiency. Efficiency and Reliability in this build are all you need.

RAM remains one of the most expensive components in computing lately, even though it shouldn’t be. (We have some alleged price-fixing on the part of the world’s largest memory manufacturers to thank for that.) We’re going to have to stick with a 16GB limit for our RAM, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get something nice. I’ve selected the Patriot Viper for our gaming pc under 700 build. Our selection of Patriot Viper comes in the form of two 8GB DDR4, running at a speed of 3200MHz. With its size supporting different size builds, together with its aluminum solid heat spreader, you can get this performance product in a majority of colors that may suit your build design

We’ve got some hard-hitting hardware in this build, so we want a case that reflects that and has the durability to stand up to any forces that would threaten the precious components inside. That’s why we’re going with the Zalman S4 PC Case Mid Tower for this gaming pc build. Before we get into the specifics, a quick note about the product color: It only comes in the S4 color option.

The S4 PC Case is the go-to for builders looking for something with bold styling that reflects the personality of their rig. The price tag adds to that reflection; for others, the affordability is just the icing on top of an already very nice-looking cake. The Phanteks offers ATX, uATX, mITX, with 2x USB 3.0, Mic, Headphone, D-RGB LED SW at the front and Tempered Glass on the side. It also offers D-RGB illumination modes.

Remember, your gaming PC under $700 will not perform well, especially while gaming with a low-quality CPU and GPU.

3. Memory and Storage

You will also need to check the memory and the storage capacity of the gaming PC under $700 you purchase. Most f the gaming PC will have minimum memory of 8 GB which is the recommended minimum of any gaming machine. The hard disk drive is usually slower than the SSD but is bigger and cheaper. If you want the SDD for higher performance, we recommend getting 256GB and above one.

Consequently, this means you will need to purchase your own computer components separately. It can be tricky to build up your own gaming PC, especially if you are not conversant or don’t know how to make your own PC.

You will require to get powerful hardware components. First, you can opt to get a gaming case that is a full or mid-tower case depending on what you want your prebuilt gaming PC to look like. Then you will need a super-powerful processor, RAM that is not below 8 GB, a Graphics card, CPU and an excellent motherboard.
